
Founder and Executive Director
Negash Teklu
Negash Teklu, MA holder in International Relations from Amsterdam University, who attended International Family planning Leadership Program (IFLP) and Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) and many high level international platforms. He is one of the initiators, founders and Executive Director of the CSO, Population Health Environment (PHE) Ethiopia Consortium . He was also one of the founders and Chairperson for two terms (2013-2018) for the Ethiopian Civil Society Forum (ECSF) that is a joint platform for all CSOs in Ethiopia. Formerly, Negash Teklu was fully involved in initiating, establishing and managing the prominent national private news agency, Walta Information Centre from 1993 – 2007. He was also a member of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Parliament and standing committee member, from 1995-1999. Before serving as a member of Parliament, he was a member of Tigray People Liberation Front starting in 1975, and from 1978-1993 he was a member of the foreign committee representing the TPLF/EPRDF in Sudan and Europe.
As an Executive Director of PHE Ethiopia Consortium, Negash Teklu represented the organization in Conference of Parties (COP) for the climate change in majority of the conferences starting COP 15 until COP 25, and Rio+20, in 2012, at the ICPD Human Rights beyond 2014 Conference at Netherlands in 2013 and the ICPD 47th session at New York in April 2014, in the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, in September 2018 and the different International Family Planning Conferences held. He is also whole-heartedly spearheading the PHE Movement in Ethiopia and globally.

M&E and Communication Coordinator
Endashaw Mogessie
Endashaw Mogessie is competent and experienced professional in planning, monitoring, evaluation and communication with MSc in Environmental Science from Addis Ababa University. In addition he is certified in leadership with advanced courses in Executive Leadership from Jönköping University (Sweden) in collaboration with Addis Ababa University. He has also studied the post graduate courses for Masters of Art in Public Administration (MPA) at Indira Ghandi National Open University.
In addition to his academic qualification, he has also attended a number of short term trainings related to monitoring and evaluation including one year capacity building program of American Based The Kaizen Company (Kaizen), leadership, communication, fund development, gender, and project management and so on.
He has proven hands on experiences in the areas of conservation, agriculture, resilience building, pastoralist development and livestock management initiatives. In addition, he has experiences in facilitating strategic plan development and trainings in leadership, team building, election, conflict management and resource mobilization. He has proven track record of fundable proposal writing. He has experiences in providing training trainings in the areas of leadership, conflict management, communication, advocacy and team building to professionals in CSOs and business areas. He has also proven experiences managing programs implemented in partnership with multiple partners and in different socio-cultural setups. He has also engaged in conducting researches with researchers in Jimma University in the areas of Eco hydrology approaches and impact assessment of integrated watershed projects.
He has a total of nearly 20 years of work experiences to date of which nearly 18 plus are in NGOs. I have extensively engaged in activities like program and project monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, consortium management, multi-sector integration, operational research, baseline assessment, ensuring donor compliance (which includes preparing or compiling necessary reports) and best practices documentation. Over all, I have 12 years of experiences of project management, planning, monitoring and evaluation .

Finance and Administrative Head
Haileloul Negash
Haileloul was born in North Shewa and raised in Addis Ababa. He is a graduate of Addis Ababa Commercial College with diploma in accounting, a Bachelor’s degree from Addis Ababa University in management and MA degree in project management and finance from Jimma University in 2019. He has more than 20 years of work experience in various finance and administrative capacities. Personally, he is a devoted and hard worker and enjoys working with people who have different experiences and cultures. He believes in team work and sharing ideas and is ready to face new challenges.

Environment and Climate Change ProgramCoordinator
Mr. Zerihun Dejene
Mr. Zerihun Dejene was born in 1979, and grew up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Mr. Zerihun earned his BSc and MSc degrees from Addis Ababa University, and worked for four different organizations in Ethiopia.
First he worked for the ministry of water and energy of Ethiopia in the capacity of soil expert. He spent two years engaging in soil mapping activities; collecting, assessing and examining soil samples, analyzing and interpreting data and modelling the information using specialist computer applications and preparing reports, maps and publications.
Then he spent five years working for World Vision International, Ethiopia in different capacity, beginning from program officer position, to Team leader, ADP manager and finally operation manager. As program and operation manager, he was in charge of providing an overall leadership, technical support and guidance to twenty five development and natural resource management projects.
Then, after he had worked for about a year as a consultant for International Fertilizer Development centre (IFDC), he joined his current organization, Population, Health and Environment Ethiopia Consortium (PHE EC) in 2016. Currently, he is responsible for management and leadership of environmental and climate change related programs including resilience projects. He is involving and leading resource mobilization and staff capacity building initiatives and organization of high level national and international meetings and conferences.

Program Coordinator
Semere Silshi
Mr. Semere Sileshi, is an MPH graduate in Reproductive and Family Health from Addis Ababa University in 2014 and a PhD candidate of Public Health in the University of South Africa. In 2017 Mr. Semere received a Short course on “Integrated Population Health and Environment (PHE) programs and projects for better sustainable development in eastern and southern Africa” provided by University of Nairobi. He also received short courses on Research Ethics and Research Ethics Evaluation provided by THREE training Programme in 2019 and different professional trainings related to research, teaching methodologies and reproductive health. Since June 2019, Semere has been coordinating PHE project of the SHARE-II programme and the preceding SHARE-I Project in Bale Ecoregion (2014-2018). Semere has been a researcher and academician who was promoted to a rank of Assistant Professor position in Madda Walabu University. He authored and co-authored more than 15 articles published in international peer reviewed journals.

Population and Livelihood Program Coordinator
Ahmed Mohamed
Ahmed Mohammed is Population and Livelihood programs Coordinator. With more than twenty years of experience he has been working on a diverse range of strategic and operational initiatives in governmental and non- governmental organizations in areas of programming, projects planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation. He also engaged in professional training, research and managing and implementing wide range of programs/projects in Ethiopia.
Working from the community to the international level, he has contributed to the development and implementation of policies and initiatives related to Population, Health, Environment, FP/RH, research, public administration and governance, women and youth policy, impacts on the rural setting, climate change strategy and programming, and the integrated population, health and environment approach, among others. Demonstrated success in building relationships with stakeholders and delivering outcomes in complex multi-stakeholder, cross-cultural, and inter-agency operating environments.
Ahmed has been graduated with Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Demography and BA degree in Geography both from Addis Ababa University. Ahmed is married and blessed with three sons.

Frezer Yeheyis
She is a down to earth young professional, aspiring to contribute all the best she can give to her country, region and the globe as whole. She is enthusiast, always eager to explore more new things and expand her horizon from different perspectives. She has a belief in being the drive force for change and transformative implementations of all types of work deployments as a team and alone.
She has gotten her first BSc from Arbaminch University in Computer pursued with another BA degree in global studies and international relation. She is also doing her MA in Global Studies and International relations from New Generation University.
She has 8 years of experience in different sectors mainly in Local and International CSOs. Her area of expertise is not only limited to office communication and technology but also has undeniable capacity in writing articles in different issues mainly in empowering the young generation and motivating the youth to be independent and successful.
She has also taken different trainings in leadership and conflict management, Human right defenders, Life skill, donor compliance, communication, leadership and conflict management of electoral stakeholders and resource mobilization.

Gender Expert
Bezaye Negassa
Bezaye Negassa is a gender specialist with strong expertise in gender assessment, gender mainstreaming, and gender mainstreaming tools development. She worked with different government organizations to build capacity in gender equality and women’s right. She also performed gender responsive evaluations and coached managers through gender sensitive project design, implementation and management.
Bezaye holds a master’s degree in sociology from Indira Gandhi Open University and Bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Addis Ababa University.

Molalign Debela
Molalign Debela was born in Horro Guduru wollega. He is married and has two children. He is holder of master’s in Public Health in Reproductive Health from Madda Walabu University (RH/MPH) and bachelor degree in Public Health Officer (HO) from Haramaya University in 2014. He has 8 years works experience at various health centers and Woreda level. He worked as Director, Out Patient Department (OPD), Ante Retro Therapy (ART), Nutrition, Public Health Emergency and Management (PHEM), TB/Leprosy, WASH, Health Information Management System (HMIS –e-HMIS and DHIS-2) as focal person and Health Extension Workers coordinators and supervisor in health centers and M&E coordinators at Woreda level.
He joined PHE-EC organization in 2019 as PHE field specialists, SHARE II project.

Executive Program Assistant
Efratise Bekele
Miss Efratise Bekele holds a Master’s degree in Social Work in Children, Youth and Family Concentration and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology both from Addis Ababa University. She has five years work experience gained from different non-governmental organizations. Currently Miss Efratise is working in PHE Ethiopia Consortium as an Executive Program Assistant.
In her previous role with Ethiopian Human Rights Council ,she served as Membership Development, Gender and Program Officer.
Before joining Ethiopian Human Rights Council, Efratise was an active volunteer in Meseret Humanitarian Organization (MHO) in researching ,coordinating and facilitating different events to raise funds from several sources and create awareness the organization good deeds.
While at E-Within language and Leadership Center which she joined as her first job right after getting her BA degree. She worked as Research, Business Development, Marketing Department Head and Team Manager.
In addition to her current duties as an Executive Program Assistant in PHE Ethiopia Consortium, she is an active Alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) since she was part of Cohort 27 track of Leadership to Change Africa which enable her to be certified from YALI East Africa, Kenyatta University. She is also a member of World Youth Forum and 2019 attendee of the Third edition of the forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

CRV Project Officer
Abayneh Tesfaye
Abayneh Tesfaye, is a competent, motivator and professional in different working discipline in different position. He has an experience in practical and theoretical natural resource management activities, integrated watershed management and development, land administration and land use planning, soil and water conservation activities, rehabilitation of ecosystem and valuation of ecosystem service around Zeway lake, climatic change and adaptation activities with project “promoting autonomous adaptation at community level in Ethiopia”, livelihood diversification and climate smart Agricultural practices.
He holds MA. degree in Public financial management from oromia state university and Bsc. degree in natural resource management from Mada Walabu University and he had been taken short term training in different discipline like, GIS and Remo sensing from Ethiopian Mapping Agency, Project monitoring and evaluation from Ethiopia management Institute and participatory watershed management from Motion Consultation and training with collaboration AAU, Horn of Africa regional Environmental center.
Thus, Abayneh Tesfaye has totally around 11 years working in different governmental and Non-governmental organization with a position of Environmental protection team leader, promoting autonomous adaptation at the community level in Ethiopia, climatic change team leader, and environmental protection and impact assessment team leader in Adami Tullu woreda environmental, forestry and climatic change authority. And he has been working in population, health and environmental Ethiopian consortium non-governmental organization from May 20/2019 to Dec. 30/2019 assigned as programme officer and Dec.01/2020 to until now assigned as project officer in central rift valley( CRV) project area in a project entitled “Natural Resource Management for Resilience and Economic Development in Rural Ethiopia”. (NATURE 4 Dev).

CRV Project Officer
Abebayehu Kassaye
Abebayehu Kassaye, is a competent and professional who has a practical experience on natural resources management, rehabilitation of ecosystems, building and enhancing community resilience, climate change mitigation and adaptation works, livelihood diversification and improvement, watershed and landscape management, soil and water conservation, and population, health and environment integration works. He holds MSc degree in Climate Change and Development from Hawassa University, Wondo Genet College of Forestry and Natural Resources and he also studied Rural Development and Forestry in undergraduate studies.
Abebayehu worked in a NGO called MELCA-Ethiopia for 11 years (from 2007 up to 2018) in different positions. These are: as Project coordinator, as Children and Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP) coordinator and as Environmental Education program coordinator in Agro-pastoralist communities on building the resilience of the communities through materializing adaptation to climate change through mobilizing the communities for rehabilitation of the ecosystems and improving livelihoods. He has been also involved in a research programme called Transformations to Sustainability Programme under an Organization called ‘International Social Science Council’ (ISSC) from 2016-2018 in the areas of social and ecological resilience, the seed and food production systems and bio-cultural diversity. He also worked as Technical Assistant (TA) in a Project called Conservation and Sustainable Use of Medicinal Plants Project (CSMPP) on conservation of medicinal plants and organizing Traditional Health Practitioners (THP). Abebayehu has been working in PHE-EC as Project officer since July 2019 and since March, 2020 he has been assigned as Project coordinator in the Central Rift Valley (CRV) Project area in a project entitled “Natural Resources Management for Resilience and Economic Development in Rural Ethiopia” (NATURE 4 Dev)
He has thus, a total of nearly 16 years of experiences in the areas of participatory forest management, natural resources conservation and rehabilitation of the ecosystems, climate change adaptation and mitigation works, on building community resilience, on environmental education activities, on revival of cultural practices, on population, Health, and Environment (PHE) integrating project works, improving and diversifying community livelihoods and on in integrated landscape management approaches and so on. He has also practical experience and skill in organizing workshops and trainings at different levels, organizing wide ranges of community and mass mobilizations programs, monitoring and evaluating project works, preparing proposals and reports. His national and international exposure has also added a significant role to improve his skill, knowledge and professionalism.

Driver
Mr. Mekdim Edjigu
Mr. Mekdim Edjigu has a 3rd Grade driving license and a certificate in “Auto Engine Electrical Electronics Servicing” from Robe TVET College in 2014. He has a total of 11 (eleven) years experiences related to driving and auto mechanics in different Governmental and Non-governmental Organizations. Among the organizations he served as driver mechanic are Bale Zone livestock development and Health Office, for SOS-Sahel and Farm-Africa from his total work experiences he served more than five years particularly for the SHARE-I Project and REDD+ Project where he had an opportunity to support PHEEC project staff before he officially joins PHEEC. Mr. Mekdim is working for PHEEC as a driver for the SHARE-II Bale Eco-Region project.

She holds Masters on Public Health and is Public health practitioner, have experience in HIV/AIDS programs, child nutrion and Reproductive health.

Field Coordinator for EU CSF III Program Project
Abiy Tefera
He has got his Master of Business Administration(MBA) degree and BA degree in Management from Arba Minch University, and BA degree in English from Dilla University. He worked as projects area coordinator, assistant project coordinator, enterprise manager, university academic and administrative quality assurance officer, planning monitoring evaluation and learning expert, supervisor, and other jobs in INGO, NGO and GO for the last 15 years. He has received different training such as strategic planning(also tainer), gender, pear learning, community conversation(CC), HIV/AIDS, supervision, mapping and others. He has got ample experience in project monitoring and evaluation being a member of the government FED M&E team.During his stay in the organizations he worked for he did outstanding jobs that the project he had managed became a center for excellence and experience sharing for similar projects in the same organization(NGO) located in different areas of the country. He is a person who seeks to succeed in any endeavour assigned. Abiy is passionate for nature and human beings as a whole. He always prefers to listen from than speak and believes it is better to give time to scholars/professionals or the wisdomatic community who have deep rooted unexploited knowledge, and help to fill the gaps of others as well. He has a personality that strongly believes and aggressively acts towards ensuring equality(including women and marginalized communities), human rights(includes children’s), development, nurture and nature, and ultimately the wellbeing of human beings and of the globe.Currently he works as a field coordinator of EU CSF III Program Project for Population Health Environment Ethiopia Consortium(PHE EC) based in Awash Sebat Kilo, Afar region.
