Service Delivery Improvement and Citizens Engagement: Civil Society Fund

This project is designed with the aim of filling gaps in the areas of improving service delivery. It has the overall objective of contributing to improvement in the well being of citizens’ and service delivery in the project area. It has also two specific objectives: 1) To improve effectiveness of service delivery mechanisms; and 2) To empower citizens to claim their basic rights. The project intervention areas constitute four adjacent Woredas of Afar and Oromia Regional States. The Woredas are found in Eastern Shoa and West Harerge zones of Oromia and Zone three of Afar Regional States. The communities are pastoralist and semi-pastoralists, which have strong interactions and interests over resource uses mainly the pasturelands. The project will directly address 6500 people through engaging livelihood interventions, capacity building trainings and service delivery improvements through introduction of social accountability interventions
